After having stellar seasons for both Derby’s Division 1 mens side and also our Academy’s under 19 side, 6′ 4″ wing, Leighton Elliot-Sewell has committed to playing his first year of collegiate basketball overseas at Polk State College in Florida.

When asked to comment Leighton said:

“After talking to and building a good relationship with the coaching staff over at Polk State, I believe this will be a great place for me to further my education and basketball development. I can’t thank everyone at the Trailblazers enough for the help they’ve given me over the years and allowing me to be in the position I am today.”

Ranked 7th for his age group, as per the DENG Camp ranking system, Leighton is set to join one of a select group of Blazer graduates to set off state side, finishing the current season with 18.6 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 2.3 APG & 2.4 SPG for the EABL academy side.

Everyone here at the club wishes him the best of luck for next season and hope he settles in quickly at his new home in Florida.
