Derby Accountancy firm lands slam dunk with three-year sponsorship of city’s first ever elite women’s basketball team

Dains Accountancy Derby

An industry-leading Derby business has shown its support for local sport by signing a major sponsorship deal with a newly launched elite women’s Derby Trailblazers Basketball Team.

Dains Accountants, based at Charlotte House, Wyvern Business Park, will see its logo emblazoned across the team’s kit, advertising boards and programme for the next three years as part of the agreement.

Partner Lisa Richards said: “Here at Dains we are proud to be embedded in not just the local business world, but also the local community.

“This is why we are proud to be the official sponsor of the new elite ladies Derby Trailblazers Basketball Team for the next three years.

“It is a link-up that will allow us to showcase the great work that we do here while also supporting a vibrant, successful and growing sport in the area.

“We cannot wait to see our name across the kits of Derby Trailblazers Basketball Team and to see them enjoy a successful season on the court.”

Derby Trailblazers was established in 2000 and is based out of the Noel Baker Academy.

The club provides great opportunities for girls and boys and men and women of all ages to play, coach, officiate and volunteer at all levels of the game locally and across England.

This season, for the first time, the club has launched an elite women’s team, which will be playing in National League Division 2.

Club Chairman David Woodyatt said: “I am so pleased that Dains has agreed to sponsor our first ever elite ladies team.

“This team is the culmination of our clubs rapidly growing female basketball programme. It provides the next stage for our girls and academy players to develop and play alongside our elite women in our national team.

“This is a great milestone not just for our club but for the sport in the area and the city of Derby as a whole.

“We are looking forward to working together to promote women’s sport in the city and across the country over the coming years.”
