Derby Trailblazers are running a UKCC Level 1 Coaching Course, over two dates in July. The course will be led by Coach Martin Ford, who brings years of experience both as a player and as a Head Coach at BBL, EBL and British University levels.

The course will take place at Noel Baker School in Derby, from 9am until 5pm on July 5th and 26th, with a one hour written exam concluding the second session. Candidates must be able to attend on both dates, with costs still to be confirmed.

Derby Trailblazers beat Hackney White Heat 91-84 at RAF Cosford, to be crowned National Champions at Under 18 level. Tom Pereira was named Most Valuable Player, after he piled in an astonishing 45 points.

The Trailblazers had begun the day by beating Reading Rockets 87-75 in the Championship semi-final. It completes a remarkable season for Derby, who have already won the Northern Premier League Title.

A packed audience crammed into the main hall at Chellaston School on Saturday 9th May, for the Derby Trailblazers 2009 Annual Awards.

BBL Coach of the Season Rob Paternostro from the Leicester Riders was the special guest for the evening. He spoke about his success as a rookie coach with the Riders this season and helped each of the Trailblazers Coaches to present awards to various members of their teams.

The highlight of the night was saved right until the end, as the club celebrated the success of their National Championship winning Under 18's. Pictures to follow shortly.
