Trailblazers look to extend unbeaten league run in Teesside

Tees Valley MohawksAfter the disappointment of being knocked out of the Men’s National Cup by Manchester last Sunday, the old adage of concentrating on the league has never been truer for Derby Trailblazers as they head to Teesside on Saturday (5pm).


Derby battle past Northumbria to stay top

DSC_1582smDerby Trailblazers needed a real gutsy performance to get past Team Northumbria and secure an 86-84 home win in front of a packed Noel-Baker crowd. It was an intensely physical affair, with nine offensive fouls being called and five players fouling out.


Blazers slip to first defeat against City of Birmingham (COB)

Blazers Logo TEAMS U13 smDerby U13’s taste defeat for the first time as a lack of focus & aggression on the defensive end of the floor result in a 96-68 loss. The first quarter started promisingly for the Blazers as Stuart & Robert combined on the offensive end to open up a 6-10 lead


Derby knocked out of Cup by Manchester Magic

DSC_3706smA below par opening fifteen minutes left Derby Trailblazers with a mountain to climb in their National Cup Quarter final tie away to Manchester Magic and led to them being knocked out of the competition. Magic recorded an 83-67 victory, despite Derby having matched them pretty much point for point over the final twenty-five minutes.

We were joined tonight by pupils and PE Staff from Oakwood Junior School in Alvaston. PE Teachers, Mr Higgins and Miss Lawrence brought the children along to give them an insight and experience of watching an NBL division one basketball game.
