Congratulations to Neve Marvill, Lucy Smith, Darcie Ashley and Phoebe Colton who represented the U13s East Midlands, at the Regional Development Tournament this weekend, held in Sheffield at All Saints Sports Centre.
Over seventy children took part in a special day of basketball to celebrate the contribution Clarence Wiggins made to both the Derby basketball community and to Noel-Baker school, where he worked for the best part of three decades, prior to his untimely death in December 2014
This is the first Coaching Day organised in memory of our dear friend, Clarence. Clarence contributed so much to Derby Trailblazers, Noel-Baker School and of course, to the young people who were lucky enough to be in his charge. It is important that we recognise what he achieved and respect the legacy he left us, hence the Coaching Day
BBL Premier Division Basketball is set to return to Derby in January 2016, after an absence of almost fifteen years. Although the Trailblazers will continue to play the bulk of their basketball in NBL Division One next season, the club is delighted to have accepted an invitation to take part in next season’s BBL Trophy, as one of four non-BBL clubs.
In memory of Clarence Wiggins, the staff in the SVB block at Noel-Baker School are competing in The Wild Warrior event, on 27th September 2015. This awesome event consists of water, fire, slides, ropes, tyres, mud, mud and more mud! See link below for our Sponsor page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SomeoneSpecial/teamNBchallenge
Congratulations to Callum Singleton who played for England under 17s this weekend in Edinburgh against Scotland u18s and Sweden u17s. Callum started both games and contributed well despite the team going down 69-51 against the Scots and missing out 63-58 to the Swedes.
