Andy Booth Memorial Game

This year's Andy Booth Memorial game took place on Saturday 7th June at Moorways. Nearly five hundred people turned out to watch possibly the best line up of players ever seen in the five years of the event.

Over £2,000 was raised for the Memorial Fund, during which a cheque for £500 was presented to the latest beneficiary of the fund, Nick Lewis. Nick has come through the Trailblazers junior programme and played for the Under 18's and both senior mens teams during the 2007/08 season. He will be going to the States in September to help further his dream. Everyone at the Trailblazers would like to wish him good luck as he prepares to depart.

2007/08 - What a Season!

In the Trailblazers relatively short history, 2007/08 could easily be described as the club's most successful yet.

The Men's second team (pictured above) produced an all conquering season, winning the Division Four Midlands/South League Title, the National Division Four Play-Off Final, the EBL Men's Shield competition. They have been rewarded with promotion to Division Three North.

The Under 18's won the Midlands Premier League title and finished third in the National Finals at RAF Cosford.

And the Senior Men's team overcame a number of problems to produce a successful conclusion to their first ever season in Division One.

After fiinishing sixth in the league, they knocked third placed Worthing Thunder out of the playoffs at the quarter final stage, to book themselves an appearance at the Final Fours weekend in Sheffield. Unfortunately, the semi-final tie against Reading proved a step too far, but the club learned a lot from the experience and are now looking forward to the 2008/09 season, which gets underway on the final weekend of September.
